The image is courtesy of Dave Stewart, Dufftown, from a collection of papers belonging to his father George Stewart.

This neatly produced small scale map of the forests in East Scotland Conservancy shows the outlines of the many individual Forestry Commission areas overlain with numbers representing the new amalgamated forest units managed under mainly Chief and some Head Foresters and their larger teams. The year could be around 1970 -1973.

The larger forest units named are:

1. Laigh of Moray
2. Craigellachie
3. Speymouth
4. Huntly
5. Forest of Deer
6. Bennachie
7. Glenlivet
8. Tornashean
9. Kirkhill
10. Banchory
11. Mearns
12. Alltcailleach
13. Braes of Angus
14. Montreathmont
15. Dunkeld (part)
