Thatched and planted sand dunes – Culbin

This image was found by Avril MacLennan in the Forestry Commission Office at Golspie (North Highland Forest District) as part of a presentation. No details however were available.

A view of thatched and planted sand dunes possibly at Culbin Forest around 1955 but not certain. The young pine trees look to be only about two years old and much of the thatching has dried up or decomposed.

Any comments would be very welcome.
