Working in the Forestry Commission

This little booklet is courtesy of Brian Duff from Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District.

This booklet was produced shortly before the last Forestry Commission Forester Training Schools closed and much of the future basic training became the responsibility of the public education system.

The booklet sets out the roles of the forest workers, the foresters and forest officers, the training requirements and locations of establishments, Training Boards, Colleges and Universities where the relevant skills could be acquired.

Of interest also are the weekly wages as at 1969 of forest workers and annual salaries of foresters, district officers and assistant conservators.
