Lovely image of hot and cold parts of the morning as the men and operators await the start up of machines with flat batteries. The second skidder probably had to be brought in from a nearby forest to help with the recovery of the Volvo BM clambunk skidder.

The man at the fire is Gordon Ferguson and Dave Forrest is using the chainsaw. He is kitted out for chainsaw work with the appropriate safety boots, trousers and helmet complete with face guard. He is most likely a chainsaw feller. Is that a Husqvarna saw?

Gordon Ferguson has no face guard or chainsaw boots and could be one of the tractor skidder operators – can anyone confirm?

Note the skidder in the back ground which has a Ford tractor base unit still in original blue paint indicating that this was not made by James Jones at Larbert. This skidder registration number is RUC31R.
