Overturned machine at Glentress Forest

The photographs are courtesy of Stuart Mitchell, Peebles area, who formerly worked at Glentress Forest.

Stuart has named the person as Andrew Thomson seen here directing operations to recover what looks like a wheeled tractor or forwarder trailer with added tracks. A monkey type hand winch can be seen on the left fitted to a rope going through a snatch block near the machine and the chances are that another hand winch is fixed out of sight.

It is proving difficult to identify what type of wheeled machine is overturned but seems to have bits of red paint and could be a forwarder trailer or a tractor skidder. Any suggestions?
