Distributing plants in Cloich Forest

The photographs are courtesy of Stuart Mitchell, Peebles area, who formerly worked at Glentress Forest.

The tractor pulling the trailer full of young transplants has obviously slipped sideways into a soft peaty section on a side slope. The tracks have pulled the vegetation cover off the top of the peat and the machine has sunk down with its undersides resting on the ground surface. The driver is probably jumping off to unhitch the trailer and could then try and ease the machine directly downhill if it will move at all.

Unsure of the very new looking tractor type but the very square edges on the engine top cover give the impression of a Fiat 100. Can anyone confirm?

Can the driver be named or names suggested?
