Loch Ard Forest – road making

Photograph is courtesy and copyright of Forestry Commission, Forest Research, Roslin, and provided with help from Glen Brearley. FR Photo number No B6946 taken by T K Evans/JBE.

‘A hydraulic excavator on new road work- excavating to the formation level.’

Early hydraulic excavator, possibly a Priestman, can anyone confirm? The machine has Forestry Commission number 28 1023 71 and probably managed by a West Coast Civil Engineering section.

Any information on location and the driver would be very welcome. See PDF for another view.
