Text reads: ‘Large wheel modifications to a tw wheeled Midland Trailer FC1771 from SE (E). Rear view showing staunchions and cross straining chain. The chain is fixed to the centre staunchions which are welded in place. The remaining staunchions are removable and may be inserted in a narrow gauge position when loading produce cross wise.’
The PDF shows the underside and drawbar modifications. This was the result of earlier trials which proved the value of large wheeled trailers for negotiating difficult conditions when extracting timber. The last image shows some interesting retractable additions to the rear wheel rims of the tractor for additional traction. Any names for this device?
