Mounted Tine plough in Laiken Forest

Photograph courtesy of Sandy Gordon, Nairn, who worked as a mechanic at the Forestry Commission Workshops at the Longman, Inverness from around 1977 to 1984.

The Caterpillar D7 with large mounted plough is parked on a ride in Laiken Forest near Nairn. The driver was Archie Clyne who had a long service on these types of machines. This one has a Registration Number but partially hidden but likely to be DLE660C as noted elsewhere on this archive. The plough is almost certainly designed to plough down to 75cms with the tine sock penetrating to the maximum depth of 90cms.

The attached PDF gives other views of the machine combination.
