Highland Bear belonging to James Jones driven by Willie Bell shifting long Douglas fir poles along the forest road at Altsigh, Inchnacardoch Forest. Note the extended chassis on the trailer to cope with the long poles.

Glad you enjoyed seeing the photographs. Did you drive this machine? I know it was made by James Jones but wondered if it was owned by the Forestry Commission at this time. The registration number FSF839X seems to indicate it was a FC machine.

Yes - it was the Forestry Commission that owned it.
