In this view Fred Gordon then Senior Ranger with the Gordon District Council or Aberdeenshire Council is addressing the seated members. The group formed in 1973 were responsible for highlighting the history, the wildlife and ecology and the recreation potential of the Hill and formed an early partnership with the Forestry Commission at that time. The result was the early construction of several car parks and many miles of footpaths for the public to use.
