Grant’s Standfast Plough at Tiendland Forest

Forestry Commission copyright images of Forest Research photographs courtesy of Glenn Brearley, Roslin. D1544

This photograph taken in January 1932 shows a horse team ploughing in Compartment 17, Tiendland Forest. This appears to be the same team as that shown in Photograph No 9 and are using the 2nd model of the 1928 experimental Grant’s Craigellachie Standfast plough. They could be working towards a marker stick set into the heather a bit ahead of the horses.

Can anyone identify any of the men or suggest who they might be?
