Fire dam with Davie Robertson and Hamish Reid

The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

Davie Robertson, Chief Forester and Hamish Reid, Forester (Skye) look over a large fire dam which has been constructed in a road material quarry and fenced off for safety. This dam would have been constructed deep enough to allow helicopters to completely submerge their water buckets for fire bombing.

Does anyone know the location?
