Cairnbann Village and Crinan Canal circa 1958
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
The view from a lock looking across the canal into the former Work Scheme camp which was subsequently used as a forestry camp during and after the WW2. The buildings which can be seen are part of the lower camp section but the roofs and chimneys of the upper section can just be noticed higher up.
Can anyone identify the buildings and who lived in them?
